Washing Up Liquid

Of all the wear and tear tasks our hands go through, washing up has to be the worst. 

After years of peeling skin and flaky nails from conventional washing liquids, we decided enough was enough.

So we went back to basics. 

We created this nourishing, organic washing-up liquid that doesn't zap hands of moisture but does crack down on grease and grime, although you might have to be a little patient, particularly if you live in a hard water area.

You see, gentle washing up liquid does work, but the absence of harsh synthetic surfactants like SLS or SLES means one tiny pump won’t magically fill your sink with bubbles and instantly cut through a sink full of greasy dishes. You’ll need to add at least a few pumps to hot water and may have to let really greasy dishes soak for a little longer - that’s the trade-off between harsh synthetic detergents and gentle natural ones.

Add a few pumps to hot water. You may have to let really greasy dishes soak for a little longer - that’s the trade-off between harsh synthetic detergents and gentle natural ones. You may also need a few extra pumps if you have hard water.

Deionised Water is purified water that has had contaminants removed in order to maximize shelf life of the finished product.

5 - 15% Anionic Surfactant (Sodium Coco Sulfate) is a COSMOS-certified anionic surfactant that the Soil Association also permits. It is derived from the fatty acids found in coconut oil. It's important to note that SCS should not be mistaken for Sodium Lauryl Sulfate (SLS) or Sodium Laureth Sulfate (SLES). Unlike SLS and SLES, which go through the ethoxylation process and are often made from palm or crude oil, SCS is not ethoxylated and has a larger molecule size, so it cannot penetrate the skin and, therefore, is much less likely to cause irritation. Sodium Coco Sulfate is used to improve foaming and assist the detergent system. It is readily biodegradable, environmentally friendly and skin-friendly.

5% - 15% Non-Ionic Surfactants

Caprylyl/Capryl Glucoside is a highly effective, plant-derived biodegradable surfactant that is also used to emulsify essential oils. It is ECOCERT Certified.

Decyl Glucoside is a mild and gentle non-ionic plant-based surfactant made from derivatives of Coconut Oil and Glucose. It is biodegradable and palm free as well as Soil Association and Ecocert approved.

Benzyl Alcohol is an organic compound that naturally occurs in plants. It inhibits the development of microorganisms and is used in our water-based products to ensure that they are safe, stable and effective as part of our ECOCERT, COSMOS and Soil Association approved organic preservative system.

Salicylic Acid is a naturally occurring compound derived from fruits and vegetables and is used in our products as part of our COSMOS and ECOCERT approved natural preservative system.

Vegetable Glycerin is a natural thickener made from plant oils and helps stop skin from drying out. It’s also a natural preservative and is part of our COSMOS and ECOCERT approved natural preservative system.

Sorbic Acid is a naturally occurring compound obtained from fruit and is one of the most commonly used preservatives in the world. It is highly effective at prohibiting the growth of mould and is part of our COSMOS and ECOCERT approved natural preservative system.

Xantham gum is a 100% natural thickening agent.

Citric Acid is naturally found in citrus fruits such as lemons and oranges. It is an excellent disinfectant and natural cleaning agent that is ideal for removing mould, bacteria and mildew and is also effective at tackling limescale and calcium build-ups.
